Currently,  23 states have legalized recreational marijuana. Other states with legalized recreational marijuana laws include Alaska, Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Montana, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington, and Rhode Island. In addition, some states have legalized marijuana but have strict regulations for transportation and cultivation. Finally, several states have also decriminalized marijuana for medicinal purposes.
